The keto diet may have surprising benefits for liver health, a new study suggests.
The research, published in the journal Cell Metabolism, studied 42 adults who had obesity, prediabetes and excess liver fat.
In a randomized clinical trial, the participants were ***** igned to three weight-loss diets – a low-carb ketogenic diet, a Mediterranean diet and a low-fat, mostly plant-based diet.
Secret To Weight Loss May Be Hiding In Your Gut, New Study Suggests
The keto diet's calories consisted of about 4% carbohydrates and 73% fat, according to the study. The Mediterranean diet provided about 50% of calories from carbohydrates and 35% from fat, while the low-fat diet provided about 70% of calories from carbohydrates and 15% from fat.

We are still a bit away from the tipoff of the 2026-27 college basketball season. Still, whether we're in the midst of a season being played or the season ended yesterday, ESPN's Joe Lunardi will always have some bracketology for us college basketball fans.
Big Blue Nation may not be too fond of the placement of its Kentucky Wildcats, with hopes of being much higher. Lunardi placed the Wildcats as a 5-seed in the East region, facing off against the winner of the 12-seed play-in game between Xavier and Oklahoma State.
Lunardi knew what he was doing with this region with the list of teams, including Kentucky. If Kentucky were to win its first game, its presumed round-of-32 opponent would be a familiar one: The Arkansas Razorbacks.
Also within the East region are 1-seed Duke, 8-seed Indiana, 3-seed UConn, 2-seed Michigan State, 11-seed Cincinnati, and others.
Obviously, a 5-seed would be a bit disappointing given the expectations at Kentucky. A 5-seed would have Kentucky in an interesting spot heading into the postseason of Year 3 for Mark Pope. In a year where you go into it on a warm seat, Pope would need a run through that bracket to make BBN happy in the end.

Our **** ysts just identified a stock with the potential to be the next Nvidia. Tell us how you invest and we'll show you why it's our #1 pick. Tap here.
SIG, the Swiss food packaging company, was supposed to be proving its turnaround was working. Instead, investors got a surprise CEO exit, no detailed explanation and a stock chart that looked like someone dropped the carton.
SIG Group shares suffered their biggest-ever intraday fall after the company replaced chief executive Mikko Keto less than six months after he took the job.
Keto, who joined in the spring, has been replaced with immediate effect by chief financial officer Ann-Kristin Erkens. She will also remain CFO until SIG appoints a successor.
The company said its transformation program, launched in the second half of last year, was starting to show results. In the first half of 2026, adjusted EBIT margin improved to 15.6% from 14.8% a year earlier, while free cash flow improved by more than €100 million year on year.

SIG has appointed Ann-Kristin Erkens as its new chief executive (CEO), replacing Mikko Keto only months after he took the role.
Keto had taken on the role of CEO on 1 March 2026.
Erkens joined SIG as chief financial officer (CFO) in November 2023. She will continue in that role until a replacement is appointed.
She was interim CEO from August 2025 to the end of February 2026.
Before arriving at SIG, she spent more than 20 years at Henkel in senior positions.

The second edition of the roster prediction series is here. The roster is little changed since early June, but the tides still change around NRG as the World Cup comes to an end and training camp gets underway soon.
Similar to how NCAA Basketball’s Bracketology works, I’ll update the below with the Last Four (players) in the roster, the first four out, the biggest riser, and biggest faller. I’ll update this series every other Tuesday until the final 53-man roster is announced on Sunday, August 30th.
Initial Rosterology for 2026 featured several surprising faces including Dominique Robinson, Naquan Jones, and Alijah Huzzie. All three remain on the roster given their place on the depth chart and the lack of true challengers for their role.
Note: Rookies are in bold and UDFAs are italicized

It's never too early for college hockey bracketology, right?
College Puck NXT has released an updated batch of bracketology for the 2027 NCAA Tournament and to no surprise Michigan State is included in the mix. The popular college hockey social media channel has the Spartans landing as the No. 1 seed in the Springfield Region.
Michigan State is projected to play No. 4 seed Boston College in the opening round. If they were to get past the Eagles, then they'd play the winner of host No. 2 seed UMass and No. 3 seed Minnesota.
Michigan State has been a No. 1 seed in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments, but have failed to make it out of the opening weekend to reach the Frozen Four. The Spartans blew a late two-goal lead against Wisconsin this past year to end their season short of the Frozen Four.
Check out the complete bracket projection from College Puck NXT below:

One national **** yst doesn't have Michigan State pegged as a top two seed in their early look ahead to the 2026-27 season.
National writer David Cobb posted the current CBS Sports Bracketology update for the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds for next year's NCAA Tournament, and Michigan State didn't make the cut. The Spartans were left off the graphic, signaling that Michigan State most likely is viewed as a No. 3 seed or potentially lower for CBS Sports' bracketology.
Here's the graphic that Cobb posted, which does include a pair of Big Ten teams as No. 2 seeds:
Michigan State is considered by many to be a preseason top 10 team entering next year, with some having them near the top of the national polls. So it's surprising to see Cobb (or whoever put this bracketology post together) outside of a top two seed. The college basketball season is also more than four months away so it's hard to put too much merit into any preseason poll or bracket projection at this time.
Regardless, this post caused a reaction from Spartan fans in the comments and certainly got my attention as well. It'll be interesting to see how things net out over the next few months as we get closer to opening tip on the 2026-27 season.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani walked confidently across the City Hall lawn on Thursday, sat down, and admitted that he had not had time to do much research into who he thought was going to win this summer’s World Cup.
On the face of it, this should come as no surprise. Mamdani oversees the municipal government of the United States’ largest city – one facing record-high rents and continued fears over ICE, and which faced a budget crunch among myriad other issues upon his election to office.
However, Mamdani is also an avid soccer fan – a rarity in American politics, made especially so by his strong, repeated engagement with the sport as both a matter of public policy and cultural force. He attended Eid al-Adha prayers in the Bronx wearing an ***** nal-branded kurta. He has campaigned against Fifa’s dynamic pricing policy, while also hosting a watch party at a municipal court for the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Mamdani’s connection to African football will get even stronger now. Playing the Guardian’s World Cup Bracketology game, Mamdani offered his prediction of how he sees the tournament playing out: he sees Morocco beating France in the final.
