Henry Cavill has found himself at the center of a very different kind of online frenzy. A new Googlebook commercial featuring the actor has sparked enthusiastic reactions from fans, with them quickly turning the ad into its own little event.
The excitement comes partly from how naturally Cavill fits the campaign. Google in its blog post, describes him as an "actor, producer and technology enthusiast" whose interests include gaming and "fantasy lore." The company says he also runs his own production company and uses Googlebook for personal projects tied to his creative ambitions.
Googlebook pairs high-end hardware with Gemini Intelligence and adds a grab bag of features, including Continue on phone syncing, Rambler for speech-to-text and Antigravity. Google has built the machine to play nicely with Android devices while still having enough muscle for demanding creative projects and professional workloads.
Cavill also offered a positive first impression after trying the device before its release. He said Google's pitch about its integrated tools intrigued him enough to request hands-on time with the product. After working with the team, he described it as having "the whispers of the next generation."
Online reactions focused on the actor as much as the new computer. One fan joked that "hiring Henry Cavill is cheating" because people would watch him simply set up a printer.

Ryan Seacrest got heads turning after posting a shirtless thirst trap to his Instagram on Saturday.
"This is what a day off looks like from start to finish," Seacrest wrote, posing with an ElliptiGO elliptical bike in the morning and evening.
Diplo, Gleb Savchenko, Jay Manuel, and some of Seacrest's other famous friends hyped the TV host up in the comments, with Diplo commenting, "Ryan relax!!!"
Summer isn't over — and Ryan Seacrest just made it even hotter.
The Wheel of Fortune host burned up his Instagram page on Saturday by sharing a sizzling shirtless picture that showed him posing with an ElliptiGO elliptical bike in an arid locale under the bright sun. In a video also shared in the carousel, Seacrest was still out in the desert with the bike, this time staring up at the moon.

MOSCOW, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held more than three hours of "highly useful" talks on Saturday with two U.S. envoys seeking a deal to end the Ukraine war, a Kremlin aide said, but he gave no indication of any breakthrough.
The ‌aide, Yuri Ushakov, said Americans Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner "outlined a number of ideas regarding possible avenues for a settlement". Ushakov did not say what ‌these ideas were.
He said Putin had told the pair that Russia was making "real progress" on the battlefield and was confident of achieving its goals, while stressing the necessity of addressing "all the root causes of the conflict".
These are statements that Moscow has made repeatedly since Putin launched the full-scale invasion of Russia's smaller neighbour in February 2022. Both sides have intensified long-range air strikes in recent weeks while the front lines remain largely static.

Gleb Savchenko is happy to waltz away from Maura Higgins.
After Higgins told E! News that she hopes she won't be paired with the Dancing With the Stars pro in the upcoming 35th season due to his past relationship with her friend Brooks Nader, Savchenko shared his reaction—and he didn't mince words.
"Until I was asked to comment on this story, I'd genuinely never heard of this girl, Maura," Savchenko said in an Aug. 4 statement to the Daily Mail. "So I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over the opinions of someone I've never met."
"It's odd to publicly attack someone you've never even met," the 42-year-old continued, "but if that's how she wants to make headlines before the show starts, that's her choice."

Dylan Cease may have changed the Blue Jays' MLB trade deadline conversation in one night. That does not mean Toronto should suddenly act recklessly. One dominant start, even one that nearly becomes a no-hitter, should not erase every concern on the roster. But Cease coming within three outs of history against the Giants was more than a great individual outing. It was a reminder that the Blue Jays may already have the kind of front-line arm teams spend July chasing. That matters now.
MORE: Ranking MLB players based on their chances of being traded this season

If Toronto believes Cease can be this kind of difference-maker, the deadline focus should shift. The Blue Jays do not need to chase the biggest names just to prove they are serious. They need to protect what they already have. That means adding enough rotation depth to keep the back end from draining the bullpen. It means finding reliable innings behind the top starters. It means avoiding the kind of thin pitching plan that turns one injury or one short start into a three-game problem.
The Cease start showed the ceiling. It also showed the responsibility. A team with an arm capable of taking over a game cannot treat the fifth starter spot like a minor inconvenience. It cannot pretend depth is optional. October teams are built around stars, but they survive because the rest of the roster holds up long enough for those stars to matter. And that is where Toronto's deadline should live.
