FC Barcelona continue to pursue promising young talent from around the world, with Dany Freire the latest prospect on the verge of joining the club's academy, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 15-year-old spent last season with Racing FC Union of Luxembourg and is currently on trial at Barça.
Freire has spent the past few days with the Juvenil A team during their training camp in Tona.
The teenage attacker's performances have made a positive impression, and if those early feelings continue, he is expected to sign for Barça in September, when he turns 16.
Freire can operate in all three attacking positions, giving him plenty of versatility for the Barça youth setup.

Yair Rodriguez is apparently moving up to lightweight.

Rodriguez (20-5) and Belal Muhammad are teammates at Valle Flow Striking in Bensenville, Illinois. Muhammad recently claimed that “El Pantera” is moving up to lightweight from featherweight.

Rafael Fiziev knocked out Manuel Torres via a highlight-reel spinning back kick in front of his home fans at UFC Baku last weekend. Muhammad subsequently suggested a matchup between Fiziev and Rodriguez. When a fan noted that Rodriguez is a featherweight, Muhammad Said that the Mexican is moving up to lightweight. Muhammad also revealed that Rodriguez underwent surgery on his wrist after his last win over Patricio Freire.
