Rockies' 1.30 ERA right-hander is 'no-brainer' trade candidate originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Colorado Rockies are, once again, one of the many teams set to sell at the MLB trade deadline. After sending Ryan McMahon away last year, the Rockies have some intriguing names worth adding this season.
Hunter Goodman would be a fun pickup for catcher-needy teams, while Mickey Moniak is a breakout candidate who could bring back a solid return for the Rockies. But there's a different player who should be on the move.
ESPN's Jeff Passan highlighted that 1.30 ERA right-hander Antonio Senzatela is a "no-brainer" trade candidate for the Rockies this season.
"In the case of Senzatela -- who has gone from awful starter to one of the best relievers in baseball this season -- it's a no-brainer," Passan writes.

Texas A&M's postseason run ended at the hands of USC in the College Station Regional on Monday night, as second-year coach Michael Earley and his veteran lineup looked pedestrian at the plate, and the pitching issues continued to be a major issue in both losses to the Trojans.
On Tuesday, Earley made the swift decision to fire **** ociate head coach and pitching coach Jason Kelly, who, after two seasons, quickly became a villain for the Aggie fan base, while the team's ERA only got worse after the 2025 campaign, ending at 5.24 paired with 90 home runs allowed.
Even worse, starting pitcher Shane Sdao's play declined after multiple injury-plagued seasons, and he finished the year with a 7.03 ERA; he did not look confident in several starts down the stretch. While the pitching staff dealt with several injury issues, including losing Caden McCoy before the season began, it's crystal clear that moving on from Kelly was the best decision.
Just hours after Texas A&M's loss, the Aggies gained back one of their former players in TCU transfer Jack Bell, and while this move is just the first of many, keeping pitchers Weston Moss and Clayton Freshcorn in the fold to pair with star sophomore Aiden Sims should be the first priority, outside of adding new arms.
One name to watch? Texas State RHP Wade Cooper, who, during his freshman season with the Bobcats, ended the year with a solid 4.72 ERA paired with 73 strikeouts. While he will garner plenty of attention, Texas A&M should be the team to beat on logistics. Cooper would immediately compete for a starting job or key bullpen role.

NEW YORK (AP) — Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred worries the owners’ salary cap proposal could lead to a work stoppage like the one that caused the cancellation of the 1994 World Series and says the plan is needed because management concluded that the luxury tax system in place since 2003 no longer is working.
Owners last week made their first cap proposal since 1994, when a 7 1/2-month strike caused the cancellation of the World Series for the first time in 90 years. Manfred was a junior lawyer on the owners’ bargaining team in those negotiations.
Players have vowed to fight a cap as long as it takes. Asked whether he is concerned the events of 1994-95 will be repeated, Manfred responded: “Of course I do.”
“We’re open to whatever ideas people have, but we need a realistic framework that addresses the fans’ concerns about competitive balance and you just can’t ignore that financial penalties have not gotten it done for us,” he said Wednesday at a news conference during an owners’ meeting.
Baseball owners and players started the current luxury tax system for the 2003 season and in subsequent agreements have increased tax rates while adding surcharges.

Phillies have no choice but to make this trade to replace Andrew Painter originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Philadelphia Phillies haven't been great over their last 10 games, going 5-5 over that stretch. Just a few months ago, the Phillies were one of the worst teams in baseball, and it almost sounds crazy to say, but with the Atlanta Braves going 6-4 over their last 10, the Phillies needed to take a bigger advantage of situations like that.
That hasn't been the case, though it's a bit tough to blame the Phillies because of who they've played, with the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians being their opponents in that span.
Regardless, because the Phillies have played much better in May than they did for much of the beginning of the year, now sitting at 30-29, many are starting to believe that a trade will have to happen for this team to get to the next level and make the postseason.
There are going to be multiple starters available, and it sounds like replacing youngster Andrew Painter will be at the top of the priority list.

For most of his life, Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi knew only one path.
The 24-year-old spent years chasing success through Thailand’s unforgiving Muay Thai circuit, building his reputation one fight at a time while dreaming of bigger opportunities.
Today, the Sor Dechapan representative finds himself in the midst of one.
Before returning to action against Yuan Pengjie in a flyweight kickboxing showdown at The Inner Circle on Friday, June 5, streaming live exclusively for members at live.onefc.com from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium, Jaosuayai reflected on a recent experience that took him far outside the ring: a surprise appearance in a music video.
For the Thai striker, the opportunity represented something he never imagined possible during the early years of his fighting career.

2026 Patriots Offseason Looks Very Similar To 2007 Perfection Season originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New England Patriots made the second-biggest trade of the offseason on Monday afternoon by acquiring Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Brown is the second receiver that offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has brought in this offseason.
The first pass catcher brought in by New England is former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs.
It feels like the first time in some years that the Patriots have taken a real swing at the wide receiver position. The only comparison I can draw is to a pair of notable offseason acquisitions made in 2007, months before the Patriots would become the first team to finish a season 16-0.

Monday marked the beginning of Pride Month. This year marks the 27th annual national recognition of June as a period to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969. It’s easily considered the most controversial month-long community observance in the United States, where it’s not universally recognized by all citizens, states, local communities and politicians.
An interesting wrinkle over the last decade has been sports leagues and teams embracing the month-long commemoration. In turn, that has led to increased controversy and outcry, especially on social media. Yet despite the criticism and backlash, leagues and teams continue to mark the start of Pride Month with social posts, logo swaps, promotional messaging, and planned events. But as much as sports teams embrace the moment, sports radio stations around the country, however, generally do not.
It’s an interesting paradox that exists between sports teams and their local sports radio brands. Sports radio stations always tend to support team causes and aim to own a small piece of every team promotion or community initiative. This can range from watch parties to charity drives throughout the year.
Yet, using the example of recognizing Pride Month, it’s often more oil and water between the two.
To be fair, the decision to recognize is a difficult one depending on the market audience a station serves. It’s a decision that often extends beyond programming, promotions, and sales. Yet, most leagues and teams continue plan for June 1 to recognize the month in some fashion, while sports radio stations remain silent. Why?

NEWTON, Mass. (AP) — Hall of Famer David Ortiz said Boston Red Sox owner John Henry is concerned about the direction of his last-place team.

“He’s worried. We had a conversation. I can see. I’ve known John a long time, him and the whole team — him and (chairman) Tom Werner, the whole group, they’re working on figuring things out to get this ride better,” Ortiz said Monday morning in an interview with The ******* ociated Press.
Boston is 25-33, trailing the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays by 12 games.
“He knows the direction of this team and he’s worried about the team’s situation more than what people think he is,” he said.

As the calendar turns to June, a special time in French sports has arrived.
In basketball, the spotlight will shine on Victor Wembanyama after he led the San Antonio Spurs to the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks, with Game 1 set to tip off Wednesday. And in soccer, the French national team will kick off the FIFA World Cup later this month as the co-favorite to claim its third championship.
Then in mixed martial arts, as if there isn't enough excitement for French sports fans already, Ciryl Gane will partake in history when, on June 14, he co-headlines UFC Freedom 250 at the White House against former two-division champion Alex Pereira for the interim heavyweight ******* le. Is there an easy pick for which championship victory would matter the most?
"I think to have the belt is something special," Gane told MMA Junkie on Monday.
For Gane (13-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) to become a two-time interim champ, he faces a tough task in Pereira, the former middleweight and light heavyweight campion trying to become the first fighter in UFC history to claim a belt in a third division. Given the challenge in front of him, Gane said he "did something really different" during his training camp even though he doesn't expect any surprises from Pereira.
