The Patriots have a running back problem, and time is running out. TreVeyon Henderson's ankle injury has him in serious doubt for Wednesday's regular-season opener at Seattle.
Henderson has not practiced since August 24. With the opener just days away, his status is up in the air.
That leaves New England perilously thin behind Rhamondre Stevenson.

The only other back on the 53-man roster is Corey Kiner, picked up in a trade with the Cardinals at the end of August. He has four games and 30 offensive snaps of NFL experience, so asking him to carry real weight in a frenzied Seattle environment would be a big ask.
