After a rough start to the season, Texas volleyball (2-2) fell from its No. 2 spot in the preseason poll to No. 9 in Monday's American Volleyball Coaches ******* ociation rankings.
The Longhorns dropped their season opener last week to No. 7 Arizona State and suffered a sweep Sunday at the hands of No. 1 Nebraska. They beat unranked Marquette last week in five sets and swept No. 18 TCU. Texas also lost starting outside hitter Abby Vander Wal to a season-ending knee injury in Saturday's win over TCU, a loss that will alter head coach Jerritt Elliott's schematic plans for the entire season.
Texas makes its home debut Wednesday at Gregory Gymnasium against No. No. 15 USC.
