Lonzo Ball goes deep about how major injuries changed his relationship with basketball originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Throughout his basketball career, Lonzo Ball has struggled with injuries. He was a promising player when he was healthy, as he had a combination of playmaking and defense. Even with his shaky shooting form, he also improved as a shooter as his career progressed.
Unfortunately for Lonzo, it seems he is out of the league now. After having a chance with the Cleveland Cavaliers, it looks like he is not up to the level anymore. He probably still has a lot to give to basketball, but injuries essentially ruined his long-term career.
Ball suffered a knee injury in early 2022 while playing for the Chicago Bulls. It was a significant injury because it led to a lengthy saga with Ball and his knee. He experienced pain even during his rehabilitation, which affected his physical activity.
At the time of his injury, the Bulls were the best team in the Eastern Conference. While they were not seen as contenders back then, they did have a promising roster that could have made some noise in the Playoffs. Unfortunately, the injury to Ball ruined that, and both he and the Bulls have never truly recovered from that.
