A Nebraska wide receiver was once again named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List on Monday. Junior Jacory Barney Jr. was named to the list for the second year in a row.
The award is presented annually by the Louisville Sports Commission, going to the most versatile player in major college football. Barney was on the watch list in 2025 following a strong freshman year. Now, he returns to the list after a versatile sophomore campaign.
The third-team All-Big Ten performer earned a starting job at wide receiver for Nebraska this past season, securing 45 passes for 484 yards and five touchdowns. He finished first on the team in touchdown catches and second in both receptions and receiving yards. In his career, Barney holds 100 receptions for 931 yards and five touchdown catches. He is on pace to finish his career as Nebraska's all-time leader in catches.
Barney also finished as one of the nation's top return specialists in 2025, ranking 13th nationally in punt return average (12.2 per return) and 15th in combined return yards (545). He totaled 270 punt return yards off 22 attempts and 275 kick return yards off 13 attempts.
