GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers made official the inevitable move with end Micah Parsons due before the official start of training camp.
They placed him on the reserve/physically unable to perform list July 28.
Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee suffered against Denver in Week 15 last season. The move allows the Packers the right to keep Parsons from counting against the 53-man roster when the season starts if he is still rehabbing.
Parsons has said that he doesn't expect to be ready until after the first month of the season, so the Packers are expected to keep him on PUP once final cuts are made. He would be forced to miss the first four games.
The Packers would have to have an open roster spot or must create one when he returns to game action.
