Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani will miss the 2026 All-Star Game and will not pitch Friday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks because of continued irritation in his left knee.
He had been scheduled to start on the mound in the series opener against the Diamondbacks.
Ohtani will remain in the lineup as the designated hitter for the rest of the weekend, according to the Dodgers.
The team said that after the Diamondbacks series, Ohtani will undergo interventions on his knee to put him "in the best position for the second half of the season."
As a result of the knee issue and the planned treatment, Ohtani will not travel to Philadelphia to participate in the 2026 All-Star Game.
