Reports say that Buckingham Palace has withdrawn its offer of royal accommodation for Prince Harry and family on the Sussexes' plan to visit the UK.
The move is reportedly linked to the upcoming July 7 verdict in Harry's legal case against ****** ociated Newspapers Limited (ANL).
A rep for Prince Harry informed Page Six, "I am aware of multiple briefings from Buckingham Palace last week suggesting that the Duke had not accepted the offer of accommodation at a Royal Residence." They also touched upon the security debacles that the Sussexes have been facing regarding the visit, saying, "Following RAVEC's decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements."
They added, "Once those arrangements were in place, [Harry] was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend." Prince Harry's rep said that it is "disappointing" that the offer "has now been withdrawn."
Harry's team suspects that the upcoming verdict in the Harry vs ANL case may be related to the withdrawal of the offer. The Guardian reports that King Charles and the royal family have largely remained neutral in their position on British tabloids and would be heavily impacted if Prince Harry won the case, as it would possibly revive questions about how the monarchy has managed its media relationships.
