It’s been a busy week for the Michigan Wolverines basketball program. Michigan’s former head coach grabbed one former Wolverines but let two others join Western Conference rivals.
The whirlwind began on Tuesday when it was announced that the reigning national champions will be losing their head coach to the NBA, when May was hired to become the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks.
Next, the Wolverines saw three leaders on their NCAA ****** le team get taken in the lottery of the NBA Draft, including one, Morez Johnson Jr. going to the Mavericks. Michigan also saw the Golden State Warriors grab Yaxel Lendeborg with the No. 11 pick and former UCLA Bruin Aday Mara come off the board a pick later to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Clearly Dallas loved Johnson to select him ahead of Lendeborg and Mara, but was that the right call for the Mavericks, who are building around the reigning Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg.
College Sports Wire writer Matt Zemek explained why the Mavericks letting the 7'3" Mara fall to the Thunder might end up costing Dallas in the long run.
