The team cut ties with long-time right fielder Nick Castellanos before the season began, bringing in free agent Adolis Garcia as a replacement. Then Garcia was sidelined with an injury and the team called up Gabriel Rinconces Jr. for a look.
And as the team continues to evaluate the options, a former utility player who once seemed as if he might offer a solution in the outfield has gotten his own update.
