Cowboys strangely being viewed as team that could impact Jets and Browns finding their franchise quarterback originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Some teams around the NFL are still searching for their franchise quarterback, and we can probably say that for about half of the league. There are about 10 good quarterbacks, five elite ones, and a handful of others who are just kind of fillers at the moment. At any moment, those teams could look to move on from those guys, or at least replace them.
At the bottom, we have some veterans and guys who just simply aren't going to do the job.
The New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns are at the top of that list, though there's reason to believe that they could fix that in the near future if they're willing to take a chance on somebody like Brendan Sorsby, who was recently told he won't be able to play college football any longer after a gambling investigation.
It remains uncertain which other teams will be interested in Sorsby in what is expected to be the supplemental draft, but Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated recently noted that the Dallas Cowboys could be in the mix.
