To soccer (ahem, football) fans, Erling Haaland needs no introduction. The lumbering Norwegian striker tore through Bundesliga defenses time and time again before joining Manchester City in 2022. Though the "Cityzens" had already won the Premier League four of the previous five seasons, the addition of Haaland took them to new heights as the bleach-blonde striker poured in a record 35 goals in his first campaign. He followed that with another 31 in 2023-24, leading City to an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League ***** le.
This summer, Haaland has introduced himself to the rest of the world as he has led Norway—now the 2026 World Cup's de-facto Cinderella—to a quarterfinal clash with mighty England. Before Saturday's showdown, however, Haaland was spotted getting some much needed R&R … on the golf course.

Here at Golf Digest, we are obviosuly excited that Haaland shares our passion for the game of golf, but his father Alfe-Inge "Alfie" Haaland is probably even happier. Though Alfie Haaland was also professional footballer, playing In the Premier League for clubs like Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and, you guessed it, Manchester City, the younger Haaland revealed in a recent video on his YouTube channel that his dad actually wanted him to be a pro golfer instead of a soccer player.

Soccer is fast andintense. Which is why Febreze debuted "Can't Wash This," a new campaign built on a simple truth: It's also stinky. As the Official Odor Fighter of Major League Soccer, Febrezetapped Trevor Noah to promote fresh scents.
The campaign by Elevate launches alongside new brand-integrated content during the podcast "What Now? With Trevor Noah." For his WorldCup coverage, Noah shot inside the Red Bulls New York boot room. Creative also includes influencer content and MLS club social integrations, including LA Galaxy, FC Cincinnati, Red Bulls New York andAtlanta United.
"I have loved soccer my whole life. It's exciting to see how soccer has taken over the U.S., and Febreze felt like a natural fit for that — a brand that playsan integral part in the soccer routine," said Noah.
The brand also partnered with multidisciplinary artist Temi ****** er on a scent-inspired boot and Boot Room installation thatanchors the Febreze Boot Room Tour, a 40-foot x 40-foot traveling experience. Tour stops include:
July 17: LA Galaxy vs. LAFC, Los Angeles, 3:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

Anthony Hopkins looked worlds away from his famous film character, Hannibal Lecter, as he cheered on the English soccer team from afar amid their FIFA World Cup match against Mexico on Sunday night.
The 88-year-old was clad in an English soccer jersey and beige linen pants as he sat on an armchair, while looking over at his wife, Stella Arroyave, 70. The Colombian beauty rocked a green Mexico jersey in support of the Central American team, and paired it with a matching hat.
Anthony's hair and beard were completely white in the shot, and his face looked thin as he supported the English side despite his Welsh heritage.
"We're all winners…#worldcup2026," he wrote in the caption, as fans rushed to the comment section to decry his support of England. "What are you doing???? You are Welsh," wrote one fan, while another added: "Where is the Welsh top?" and a third shared: "Though you were a proud Welsh man!"
Anthony was born in Wales in 1937, and has been open about his connection to his homeland in the past. "I would like to go back to Wales. I'm obsessed with my childhood and at least three times a week dream I am back there," he admitted in an interview.

In the world of international soccer, the top prize has only ever gone to teams from Europe or South America. But as this year's World Cup progresses, a new contender is turning heads: In a thread on r/worldcup, soccer fans debate whether Morocco has finally ****** embled a squad capable of breaking the geographic curse and becoming the first African country to take home the 18-karat gold trophy. Morocco recently knocked out the Netherlands in penalty kicks during the round of 32. They advance to the last 16, playing Canada on July 4.
While many fans in the comments point to the team's tactical dominance and stellar roster, others warn that celebrating too early might be a massive mistake.
Supporters of the Moroccan squad point to their impressive global ranking and a deep roster full of players trained in elite club systems. For many football fans, their ability to dictate the tempo against traditionally dominant nations sets them apart from typical underdog teams.
Despite controlling possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities, some think that Morocco lacks the decisive finishing touches required to win it all. Without a reliable single scorer to capitalize on these chances, their tactical prowess could go unrewarded.
While ****** yzing tournament brackets is a staple of soccer fandom, a vocal contingent warns that looking too far ahead is a risky game. Advancing past squads like Canada is never a guaranteed outcome.
