Former UFC champions Glover Teixeira and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua made weight Friday morning for their boxing match at Spaten Fight Night 3, and Teixeira will have a 10-pound advantage over his opponent.
Teixeira stepped on the scale at 240 pounds, while Rua weighed 230 pounds, both under the 242-pound limit for Saturday's boxing match in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Teixeira vs. Rua will have eight two-minute rounds.
The biggest weight discrepancy, however, was for the judo match between Olympic gold medalist Bia Souza and her opponent Raz Hershko. In a rematch of the 2024 Olympic heavyweight final, Souza weighed 293 pounds, a whopping 33 pounds heavier than Hershko at 260.
Spaten Fight Night 3 will also feature a boxing showdown between Luan Medeiros and Juan Cruz for the vacant WBA Fedelatin USA lightweight ****** le, and both fighters successfully made weight.

Diego Ferreira is invigorated after leaving the UFC Fight Night 284 co-main event with a Fight of the Night bonus and his first win since May 2024.
At 42, many were questioning if Saturday's lightweight bout against Billy Quarantillo (18-8 MMA, 6-6 UFC) would be the swan sang for Ferreira (20-7 MMA, 11-7 UFC) after losing his past two fights. Instead, he turned in his best performance in years, rocking his opponent several times en route to a unanimous decision win where he won all three rounds from every judge.
Ferreira has been a difficult out for anyone for the entirety of his more than 12-year UFC tenure. He wants to close it out strong over the next few years, and is using former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira as his inspiration to make what's left ahead, some of his best moments.
"I want to take it one-by-one first," Ferreira told MMA Junkie post-fight at UFC Fight Night 284. "I saw Glover Teixeira fighting to 45 or 46, so why not? I can maybe go further than that. But my family is first, so I'm going to sit down with my family thinking about it. But for sure a few more years to go thinking about that."

Tai Tuivasa will look to evade a UFC record-tying losing streak when he welcomes Robelis Despaigne back to the octagon.
Tuivasa (14-10 MMA, 8-10 UFC) and Despaigne (6-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) are set to clash at UFC 331 on Sept. 19 from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles (Paramount+), promotion officials announced Wednesday.
Tuivasa is on a seven-fight skid, one loss shy from tying the UFC record. The 33-year-old made the move to American Top Team in hopes of turning things around after dropping two straight decisions to Tallison Teixeira and Louie Sutherland in his return.

Paddy Pimblett might have stolen the show at UFC 329.
On a card headlined by the return of Conor McGregor facing longtime rival Max Holloway, Pimblett set the bar high for highlight of the night with a stunning submission win over Benoit Saint Denis in under 60 seconds. This was Pimblett’s first fight since seeing his unblemished UFC record spoiled by Justin Gaethje this past January and he wasted no time reminding fans and pundits that he is a legitimate lightweight ******* le contender.
Pimblett put Saint Denis to sleep to win his 10th fight in his last 11 appearances and he wowed his peers, with featherweight veteran Billy Quarantillo writing on Twitter, “Quick submission Paddy is the real deal.” Kenny Florian and Glover Teixeira, a couple of retired stars who know a thing or two about grappling, were also effusive in their praise for “The Baddy.”

Two weeks before her ******* le defense at Karate Combat 62—scheduled for July 24 in Miami against Juliana Velasquez—Aline Pereira was surprised by her brother, “Poatan,” with one of the biggest gifts she has ever received. On his birthday of July 7, per sources close to the situation, the current UFC heavyweight gave his younger sister a house in Connecticut, near their training camp of Teixeira MMA & Fitness.
On a since-deleted Instagram Stories post, the Karate Combat champ wrote, “There are gifts that change a life. Today, you gave me one of them. Thank you, little brother, for so much love and generosity. May God repay you twofold for everything you do for me. Happy birthday! I love you.”
The 35-year-old flyweight has bounced back and forth between kickboxing, Karate Combat and MMA since debuting in the LFA in 2022. Her most recent appearance in any combat sport came in May when she took home a decision over Jade Masson-Wong at the inaugural MVP MMA event. That put her on the first win streak of her career, although all of her professional outings in MMA have heard the final bell.
As a Karate Combat participant, she first appeared in 2024 to knock fellow MMA expat Dee Begley out in the opening frame. UFC Freedom 250 went down in the history books last night (Sat., June 14, 2026) in what was truly one-of-a kind event that saw all seven fights end via knockout. In the main event of the evening, Justin Gaethje became the undisputed Lightweight champion of the world after he absolutely brutalized Ilia Topuria to the point to where “El Matador” could not answer the call to come out for the fifth and final round (highlights). In the co-headlining act, Ciryl Gane once again captured UFC gold by knocking out Alex Pereira (video), while Sean O’Malley stopped Aiemann Zahabi in round two (see it here).
It’s about time UFC stops playing with Tsarukyan and give him his long over due shot at the **** le. He is currently ranked No. 2 and while he has been meaty taking on side quests in RAF, he should be ready to get back to his true calling inside the Octagon. This is another fight that has fireworks written all over it. Tsarukyan is on a five-fight win streak and was last seen submitting Dan Hooker in Nov. 2025.

Since then, however, all we have been seeing is how slow the champ’s recovery has been, so there is no telling when that fight will happen…if ever.
