Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is opening up about the mixed emotions she feels as a new mother.
The Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up star — who gained national attention for conspiring with her then-boyfriend to kill her mother in 2015 — shared an Instagram Reel on Monday, August 17, in which her daughter Aurora can be seen finally saying "Mommy" at 19 months old.
"For so much of my life, the word 'Mommy' carried a meaning that was complicated and painful for me," Blanchard, 35, began in the caption. "I knew motherhood would give that word a new meaning, but I don't think I was prepared for what it would feel like to actually hear my daughter call me Mommy."
Blanchard, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder following Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard's death, shares Aurora with boyfriend Ken Urker. Their daughter will turn 2 in December.
"I carried her, brought her into this world, and have had the privilege of watching her grow into this beautiful little person," the social media personality continued. "At 19 months old, hearing that tiny voice finally say 'Mommy' hit a place in my heart I can't fully explain."

Rosie O'Donnell took time out from her recently intensified feud with President Donald Trump to thank him ― sort of.
O'Donnell ― who recently finished a well-received limited run off-Broadway and is slated to guest-host "Jimmy Kimmel Live" starting Aug. 17 ― told "Good Hang" host Amy Poehler about her new status and the man perhaps responsible.
Buzz: '******* And A Liar': Rosie O'Donnell Renews Feud With 'Psychopath' Trump
"I feel like recently I'm re-famous," O'Donnell told a laughing Poehler on Tuesday's episode. "That's what I feel. I told my kids, Well kids, hold on 'cause mommy's re-famous. I don't know how it happened. I think it's Mango Mussolini."
"I think it's him who did it," she continued. "He didn't know. If he knew how much he was helping my career and my life, he would shut up about me because, you know, he's a horrible creature."

Kris Jenner's mother, Mary Jo Shannon, affectionately known by her family and fans as MJ, has died, Jenner wrote on Instagram Thursday. She was 91.
The beloved grandmother of Jenner's children — Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — MJ appeared in multiple episodes of the family's long-running E! reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians as well as their Hulu series The Kardashians.
"Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ," Jenner wrote in the caption of her post. "There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye."
Calling MJ the "heart" of the family, Jenner wrote that her mother taught her what "truly matters," which is "to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted."
"Mom, thank you for every sacrifice you made, every piece of wisdom you shared, and every moment you loved us so completely," she continued. "I will miss our daily talks, your smile, your laughter… Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us."

Sterling Mahomes is a regular at Arrowhead Stadium, where she sees her dad, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, work. She attends Chiefs home games, away games, Super Bowls, practices and parades. But on a sunny day in Kansas City recently, the 5-year-old got to see her mother, Brittany Mahomes, in her element.
Brittany, the New Fans Correspondent for Everything But the Score, Yahoo's World Cup project, was at CPKC Stadium, home of the women's professional team she co-owns, the Kansas City Current. She was there for a video shoot designed to introduce newcomers not just to the game of soccer, but also to the players, personalities and culture surrounding it.
For someone who has spent much of her life around the sport, it's a natural fit. She speaks about soccer with the ease of someone who has a deep love and knowledge of the game, following a successful career as a college and — yes — professional player.
While Brittany casually dropped soccer knowledge, Sterling pushed a doll named Rosie around in a toy stroller, chatted about life as a big sister to younger siblings Bronze and Golden and occasionally wandered over to see what her mom was working on. "She wanted to be a part of mommy's work and see what I do," Brittany tells me.
It's a small moment, but one that seems to capture where Brittany is in life right now: still chasing ambitious goals, but increasingly aware of who's watching from the sidelines.

Jill Smokler, founder of popular parenting blog and website "Scary Mommy," died Monday, June 22 after a yearslong battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. She was 48.
Smokler's family broke the news in a social media post, writing "it's with broken hearts that we share that Jill passed away this morning, after a more than two-year fight with glioblastoma."
According to the post, "She faced it the way she faced everything — funny, fierce, and completely herself."
Smokler started "Scary Mommy" in March 2008 while she was raising her three children, all under the age of four, at home. "Here goes. Day One," were the first four words to ever be published on "Scary Mommy."
The obituary shared by Smokler's family described her contributions to the parenting community as "almost twenty years of telling the truth — the mess, the boredom, the guilt, the flashes of rage, and the love so big it somehow made all of it worth it."
