Oklo Inc. (NYSE:OKLO) just proved it can build a nuclear reactor as fast as it promised. On August 6, the company announced its Groves Isotope Test Reactor in Lockhart, Texas, achieved first criticality, a controlled, self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction, less than a year after groundbreaking. It's the first project under the US Department of Energy's Reactor Pilot Program to reach criticality on private land from a greenfield site, and Oklo says it may be the fastest privately funded, privately sited reactor build in history.

The broader pipeline kept moving too, with Aurora-INL site excavation nearly complete and a Kiewit memorandum of understanding advancing the 1.2-gigawatt Ohio Power Campus that will supply Meta. Shares jumped more than 10% on August 7, the day after the update, coinciding with the earnings report.
The milestone came alongside a bigger bill. Oklo reported a net loss of $81.6 million for the quarter, with an operating loss of $124.2 million, and the company still has no forward price-to-earnings ratio because it isn't yet profitable. Management raised its 2026 operating cash flow guidance to $120 million to $150 million, up from $80 million to $100 million, and lifted capital expenditure guidance to $400 million to $500 million from $350 million to $450 million, both tied to accelerated procurement for Aurora-INL and opportunistic fuel purchases. Groves itself is also a test reactor for isotopes, not Oklo's commercial power business. The Aurora-INL project that would validate the company's powerhouse platform isn't targeted to start up until 2028, and the first phase of the Aurora-Ohio powerhouse meant to supply Meta's data centers isn't expected until early 2030.

Monday was Major League Baseball's trade deadline. and the Colorado Rockies were sellers.
For the big-league team, that generally means sending out good, current major-league level players and replacing them, again generally speaking, with still developing minor league players.
And for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, what Monday's trade deadline means is star players like Charlie Condin and Zac Veen are still in the organization, although they could be heading to replenish the Rockies roster soon.
It also means the Isotopes will likely be getting some new names/faces as soon during as this week's six-game homestand against the Sugar Land ***** e Cowboys. At least three — RHP Mason Adams, LHP Mark Manfredi and INF Connor Norby — have already been ***** igned to report to the Isotopes this week.
And while he's not yet on a homecoming trip to Albuquerque, Sandia High graduate Aiden May, a 23-year-old right handed pitcher who was drafted out of Oregon State in 2024, was acquired by the Rockies in a trade with the Miami Marlins and could be an Isotope in the next couple of years if his minor-league progression continues. He was ranked as Miami's No. 27 minor-league prospect.

Minor League Baseball announced today that Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder Zac Veen (No. 9 PuRP) has been named Pacific Coast League Player of the Month for June.
His accomplishments last month have been notable.
Over 24 games in June, Veen slashed .366/.385/.782. This includes 13 doubles, four triples, seven homers, and 19 RBI. He led the PCL in hits (37), doubles, total bases (79), and tied for first in triples during the month of June. In addition, Veen led minor league baseball in total bases.
His 24 extra-base hits in June were second-most for an Isotopes player in a month since at least 2005. Scott Seabol and Ryan Ritter each collected 25 extra-base knocks in May 2006 and May 2025, respectively.
Add to that, Veen hit safely in 23 of 24 games during the month and compiled a 25-game hit streak from May 27-June 25, the third-longest in Isotopes history. Additionally, he tied a franchise record with three doubles on June 23 when the Isotopes met the Salt Lake Bees before launching a pair of leadoff home runs later in that series.

If all you saw from Charlie Condon this season was the past month, you'd be hard pressed trying to figure out exactly when the Colorado Rockies prized power-hitting prospect is still wearing an Albuquerque Isotopes jersey.
Entering Saturday night's game against Sugar Land, Condon was riding a 10-game heater that included hitting .316 with a .422 slugging percentage and a monstrous .895 slugging percent with two triples, six home runs, 16 RBIs while also drawing six walks in the stretch.
He's not just getting on base at a rate the Rockies like to see, but he's consistently getting the power numbers.
Among Pacific Coast League leaders, Condon entered the weekend tied for third in homers (14) and runs scored (56), fifth in walks (45) and tied for sixth in extra-base hits (30).
And yet, he's still in Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies always seem to a find their way into an outfield logjam. Admittedly, it took them slightly longer this year, but with Mickey Moniak beginning a rehab **** ignment with the Triple-Albuquerque Isotopes on Thursday—while Brenton Doyle and Jordan Beck are potentially nearing their own rehab **** ignments—things are about to get more crowded.
The Rockies currently have six players on the active roster designated as or able to play as outfielders. Including the three on the injured list, they’ve fielded nine different outfielders this season. The team also has two prospects in Triple-A that are getting closer and closer to big league call-ups. Once Moniak returns to the active roster—which is expected to happen as early as this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates—the Rockies will have decisions to make when it comes to their outfield.
Here are the outfielders the Rockies have used to far.
The switch-hitting Willi Castro is mostly an infielder for the Rockies this year, regularly playing a serviceable second base with a smattering of shortstop. However, he has decent experience playing in the outfield and has made nine appearances with 27 innings in the outfield. Most of his reps have come in left field, though he’s also had time in center. During that time he has five putouts with an **** ist and took part in a double play.
At the plate, Castro has turned into a consistent contributor. As of today he’s hitting .282/.359/.409 with 13 doubles, five home runs, and 32 RBIs, a 24.6% strikeout rate, and a 9.4% walk rate.

On June 27 at Isotopes Park, former Isotopes manager Lorenzo Bundy and former Pacific Coast League President Branch Rickey III will headline this year's class being inducted into the Albuquerque Professional Baseball Hall of Fame.
Bundy racked up 226 wins as the Isotopes manager from 2011-2013 and was the 2012 PCL Manager of the Year. His .523 win percentage is second only to Tim Wallach's .530 from 2009-10. Bundy's 2012 Isotopes squad tied a franchise record with 80 wins and marked the last time the team made the playoffs.
Rickey, the grandson of Wesley Branch Rickey, who helped integrate Major League Baseball in 1947, was PCL president from 1998-2020 and was a key part of the relocation of the Calgary Cannons to Albuquerque, where the Isotopes played their first season in 2003 following the Dukes' decision to leave town after the 2000 season.
During his tenure, Rickey oversaw the construction of 10 new ballparks, including Isotopes Park, and also helped secure Albuquerque's hosting of the 2007 Triple-A All-Star Game and the 2011 Triple-A Championship Game.
