AS Monaco have announced the squad for their upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League campaign. Folarin Balogun has been notably omitted from the squad. It comes following the breakdown of his move to Everton on transfer deadline day.
Monaco announced their UECL squad on Thursday. Balogun was not in it. Whilst Nice-Matin have reported that the USMNT international is likely to remain at Monaco, at least until the winter, there is still the possibility for him to depart. The transfer windows in Turkiye and Saudi Arabia, notably, remain open.
Balogun returned to training for Monaco on Thursday, ahead of Friday night's game against Paris Saint-Germain. He has not been included in the matchday squad for that game, however. A fitness issue had been evoked by Filipe Luís pre-match. The Brazilian manager could not give a timeline for the striker's return. This, as well as the uncertainty over his future, could explain Balogun's surprise absence from the Europa Conference League list.
Matthis Abline, Paris Brunner, and Mika Biereth are the recognised senior options at Luís' disposal.

Despite strong links with a move to Chelsea, Lamine Camara is expected to start for AS Monaco against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday night.
The Senegal international may not be a Monaco player come Tuesday, but he is expected to start alongside Denis Zakaria. Meanwhile, another player linked with an exit, Folarin Balogun, is out. He has yet to return to fitness since his return from the FIFA World Cup. Ansu Fati is also out injured, whilst Takumi Minamino and Mohamed Salisu are building up their fitness after suffering ACL injuries last season.
Up front, Filipe Luís has a decision to make. The Brazilian may opt for the in-form Paris Brunner over Mika Biereth. Eric Dier, who had looked like one of those most likely to leave earlier in the summer, is once again expected to start in defence.

AS Monaco will have to cobble together a forward line this evening when they face Górnik Zabrze in their UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier in Poland.
Les Monégasques are without several key players in their attack. Folarin Balogun is not yet back to full fitness following the FIFA World Cup, which, as revealed by Filipe Luís, he played through despite a minor niggle. Matthis Abline is also out after sustaining a minor foot injury in the pre-season loss to Coventry City. Ansu Fati has not recovered from injury, is out, and will also miss the start of the Ligue 1 season.
In the supporting roles, Aleksandr Golovin is injured, whilst Takumi Minamino is still on the road to recovery from an ACL injury sustained in December. His return is nearing but he is not yet fit. There could, therefore, be a chance for Safouane Benzahra, who has yet to make his professional debut for his formative club, either from the start or from the bench.
Lukas Hradecky; **** nho, Christian Mawissa, Eric Dier, Vanderson; Stanis Idumbo, Lamine Camara, Denis Zakaria, Mathys Detourbet; Paris Brunner, Mika Biereth.

CHICAGO — Indiana football is shaking up its offensive line for the start of fall camp.
According to IU coach Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers will open the fall with Adedamola Ajani moving to right guard, Joe Brunner kicking to the outside and Bray Lynch taking reps at center. The left side will be familiar to fans with Drew Evans (left guard) and Carter Smith (left tackle) working side-by-side for a third straight year.
Last season, Ajani provided Indiana with depth at multiple positions on the offensive line. He started at both guard spots and played 46 snaps at right tackle in the national ***** le game against Miami.
"I think he feels a little more comfortable there," Cignetti said at Big Ten Media Days on Thursday, July 30. "And he played better at guard than tackle last year when he went into games."
