Read about each nominee below and cast your vote. The poll is set to close at noon Friday, Sept. 4.
Birkhead made the most of his first game as Memorial's starting quarterback, throwing for 394 yards and a school-record seven touchdowns in the Mavericks' 54-34 season-opening win over Fort Worth Paschal. Six of his touchdown passes came in the first half as Memorial built a 47-22 halftime lead to help Ross Dillard pick up his first win as a head coach.
Belcher accounted for seven touchdowns in Windthorst's 49-43 win over Holliday. The senior quarterback completed 22 of 30 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns while adding 122 rushing yards and three scores to help the Trojans down the Eagles in both teams' season opener. He nearly came down with an interception on defense as well but was ruled out of bounds.
