Florida State will enter into a new football season at home on Saturday, hosting New Mexico State at Doak Campbell Stadium.
FSU has fallen short of expectations in recent years, not even reaching bowl eligibility since 2023, when the program was infamously snubbed by the College Football Playoff. With a 5-7 record last year, the Seminoles are hoping for more success behind star transfer Ashton Daniels, who will lead the offense under center.
New Mexico State is also hoping for a better outcome than last year, in which the program went 4-8 overall. Luckily, the Aggies are returning much of their veteran talent on both sides of the ball, and a slew of transfers will help to bolster their defense.
