Serie A forward Yael Trepy remains in hospital under "pharmacological sedation" and on a ventilator after he lost consciousness in a swimming pool in Sardinia.
Trepy, 20, was airlifted to hospital after being pulled from a swimming pool at a villa on Sunday afternoon.
His club Cagliari shared a statement on Tuesday from the Santissima Annunziata Civil Hospital in Sassari, where Trepy is being treated.
The statement said Trepy was "fever free" and his "respiratory function" has improved compared to his severe condition when he was admitted.
Should he continue to improve, there will be a "gradual reduction in sedation".
