Tony Hale recalls being compared to David Schwimmer early in his career but not always in a flattering way
Hale struggled with odd jobs and harsh industry advice before landing his big break on Arrested Development in 2003
He earlier credited Henry Winkler as a mentor who showed him success in Hollywood can coexist with kindness
Tony Hale says that when he first started auditioning for commercials as a young actor, he was compared to David Schwimmer — but not always favorably.
Speaking in a recent episode of Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade, Hale, 55, spoke about how he was going on auditions while simultaneously working "every job under the sun, like cater waitering and all this stuff."
