The American Express Green Card® and the American Express® Gold Card both earn Membership Rewards® points, which can be redeemed in a wide variety of ways. But the two cards have significant differences otherwise and are aimed at different spending types. Learn how each card stacks up when compared side-by-side to help you decide which one is right for your needs.
All information about the Amex Green card has been collected independently by and is no longer available through Yahoo Finance.
When comparing the two cards' annual fees, the Amex Gold card is more than twice as much as the Amex Green. The American Express Green Card has an annual fee of $150 and the American Express Gold Card has an annual fee of $325. Both cards justify their cost through high rewards in select categories and other benefits, but the Amex Green card will likely appeal to travelers who want strong rewards and don't want to shell out for a more premium travel card. The Amex Gold does come with valuable credits for Dunkin, Uber, Resy, and select dining partners but you have to put in a little work to maximize these benefits.
