A Florida team can qualify for its fourth straight Southeast regional championship game if Chaires-Capitola can beat Phenix City, Alabama, today. That would put the Tallahassee boys one step away from reaching the 2026 Little League World Series.
Chaires Little League dominated its first two games at regionals, beating teams from Georgia and South Carolina by a combined score of 24-2. Phenix City won both of its games by three runs, including an 8-5 win Saturday, Aug. 8, against perennial regional power Nolensville, Tennessee. "The Green Machine" is used to taking down ******* ans, though: They beat the reigning regional champs from Irmo, South Carolina, 8-1 and won the state ******* le by blanking 2024 LLWS champion Lake Mary 6-0.
A loss today wouldn't spell the end of Tallahassee's tournament; it would put them in an elimination game Monday, Aug. 10. They'd have to win that to earn a rematch for a place in Williamsport. Follow along live with us as Chaires continues its Southeast regional run.
