Mya Francis-Pownall was inspired form on her first start as a Brentford Women's player, making two great stops from close range in quick succession to keep the scores level.
The home side began the better of the two sides and were putting the Bees under pressure.
Millie Constantine had a shot from distance to test the Chatham Town Women's goalkeeper and the latter tipped the ball past the past.
Wiktoria Kiszkis was next to try from distance and again the goalkeeper did well to push the ball wide.
The home side took the lead though as a looping header managed to beat Francis-Pownall who could do little to stop the good finish.
