Caitlin Clark has spent the past several weeks playing under the shadow of a looming suspension. But bad news came on Saturday against the Chicago Sky. A brief moment with an official, where Clark accidentally **** ped into the referee.
According to the rules, a player must receive a technical foul for **** ping into a referee. But there has been some massive outrage on X after **** ysts and fans learned that Clark did it accidentally.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Clark addressed the call directly.
"She said I ran into her," Clark said. "I've already watched it on tape so we'll let the league decide but it wasn't intentional and anything. So I'm hoping it's getting rescinded. I'll see you on Tuesday."
Fever head coach Stephanie White, who was also given a technical for arguing the call, confirmed afterward that Indiana plans to appeal the decision in hopes of getting it overturned before the team's game against the New York Liberty on Tuesday. It would not be the first attempt this season.
