FORT DOGE — Naoni Davisson's hot bat propelled Regina Catholic past Cardinal, 6-2, during the second day of action at the IGHSAU state softball tournament on Tuesday, July 21, at the Rogers Sports Complex.
Davisson was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs to help the Regals advance to Day 3 of the tournament with a perfect 2-0 record so far.
"I'd been in a slump for a couple games," Davisson said, "Going 4-for-4...it felt so good."
Davisson led off the bottom of the second inning with a stand-up double, and her confidence kept growing from there.
"After first I just knew I could hit off this pitcher (Cardinal's Maclain Hickenbottom)," Davisson said. "I went into that box with so much confidence. After that second hit, I was just like, I'm getting on. It felt so good."
