The Tampa Bay Rays couldn't end the first half of the season with a win, but they are still in a great spot as they arrive at the MLB All-Star Break.
The team fell short of completing the series sweep at Tropicana Field as the Seattle Mariners salvaged the final game, defeating the Rays 8-2. Here is what you need to know about the contest.
Ian Seymour got the start to end the first half of the season for the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, and it wasn't his best outing.
After starting off strong in the first inning, he allowed too much base traffic the next frame and allowed three runs to score. Seymour finished with 3.1 innings on the day, allowing five earned runs on six hits, striking out three but also walking three.
The four relievers that came out of the bullpen following Seymour did their best to play damage control but allowed two more earned runs across the final 5.2 innings in the game.
