Heading into moving day, Rory McIlroy and Tom Kim maintain their lead at the 2026 Scottish Open. And thanks to a meteoric rise in the second round, England's Jordan Smith enters Round 3 right alongside them.
Smith birdied four straight holes at the onset of his day Friday, launching a tournament-best round of 7-under 63 that got him to 9 under. His best showing this year was third at the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook during the Florida swing. Meanwhile, McIlroy has continued his dominance at the Scottish Open with his 14th straight round under 68.
Smith's countryman, Matt Fitzpatrick, enters the third round right on his tail at 8 under, tied with Min Woo Lee. Chris Gotterup, Sudarshan Yellamaraju and Scotland's Robert MacIntyre are among those two strokes back, while U.S. Open champ Wyndham Clark sits three off the lead. In all, 24 players come into the day within four shots of the leaders, though reigning British Open champion Scottie Scheffler is not among them, having shockingly missed the cut.
