Welcome to the 2025-26 Herald-Times Boys Athlete of the Year poll, presented by IU Health.
Congratulations to Bloomington North's Ashley Stegemoller, who won our girls' athlete of the year poll two weeks ago, gathering 39.6% of the vote (5,160 votes) to top Edgewood's Macey Crider (36.1%).
Readers may vote as much as they like in our latest poll until it closes on Friday, July 10 at noon. Here are the boys nominees based mostly on our athletes of the year for each sport:
Reached a career high of 16-3 in pole vault. Went back to state and also moved up the ladder there, placing fourth at 16-0, with just one vaulter making it over 16-3.
H-T Player of the Year put up terrific numbers, averaging 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 ****** ists and 1.2 steals per game. Shot an amazing 63.6% from the floor (152-of-239), 57% from the 3-point line (48-of-84) and 90.2% at the line (92-of-102) to finish as South's all-time career leader in free-throw percentage. All-Conference Indiana. HBCA All-District and All-Star game invitee. Will play at Wabash.
