SEATTLE — Christian Pulisic imagined a better end to this World Cup.
Instead, it was more of the same.
Pulisic has been the face of the U.S. men's national team for more than a decade now and has little to show for it. Some regional **** les, a couple of dominant wins against archrival Mexico, a bunch of commercials this summer … and two disappointing finishes at the World Cup.
For the second consecutive tournament, the USMNT exited the World Cup in the round of 16. And just like four years ago, the Americans were thoroughly outclassed in their last game.
"Anytime you lose — even if we made it to the semis, we lost — it's the same feeling at the end," Pulisic said after the 4-1 loss to Belgium.
