Bill Belichick and UNC football signed a top-20 recruiting class ahead of the 2026 season, bringing in a group of nearly 40 players to aid the Tar Heels' hopes of a turnaround.
After posting a 4-8 record in 2025, UNC loaded up on the high school recruiting trail with players Belichick said "will be the foundation for our program" moving forward.
As of July 1, the Tar Heels have 17 commits in the 2027 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 46 according to 247Sports. Wide receiver Amare Patterson from Bluffton, S.C., is currently the only four-star recruit in the group.
