Scunthorpe United have re-signed midfielder Jacob ******* erfield on a player-coach deal.
The 36-year-old returns to the Iron after turning down a new contract with National League rivals Gateshead.
Butterfield scored 12 goals in 89 games for Scunthorpe between 2022 and 2024 before leaving for the Heed.
The Glanford Park side have not disclosed the length of deal the former Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Derby County man has signed.
