Red Sox most likely to make disappointing Jarren Duran trade decision originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Boston Red Sox are looking likely to be trade deadline sellers this summer, and there are plenty of interesting trade chips who could be on the move.
Jarren Duran is one name to keep a close eye on, as he's been in rumors for a while now, and could be on the move this summer. However, the current outlook doesn't look too good.
As MLB.com's Mark Feinsand notes, the Red Sox are more likely to make a disappointing decision with Duran at this year's deadline. That decision would involve Duran staying in Boston, and the club hoping he builds up some trade value.
"What could Boston get back for the 2024 All-Star Game MVP?" Feinsand writes. "Would the return be worth it? The more likely scenario is for the Red Sox to hold Duran for the rest of this year, hope he has a strong second half to regain some value, then look to move him in the offseason."
