New York City's Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to verify reports that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are indeed getting married in the city next month.
The "Opalite" hitmaker and Kansas City Chiefs' tight end, who got engaged last year, are rumored to be tying the knot over the July 4 weekend at Madison Square Garden, home of the reigning NBA champions, the New York Knicks.
Speaking at a Monday press conference, Mamdani, 34, discussed the city's preparedness for the upcoming July 5 World Cup match at MetLife Stadium, just across the Hudson River in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He acknowledged that the match coincides with a few other "big events" happening in the city that holiday weekend.
"We are the biggest city in the country," Mamdani said. "We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one.
"We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding all happening at the same time," he continued, ***** uring that he is "fully confident in the work of the NYPD" to provide a "safe experience" over the three-day weekend.
