The FIA will enforce its sporting regulations more strictly in Formula E's Gen4 era to clamp down on teams colluding to "manipulate" races.
Manufacturers in Formula E hold significant influence over their customer teams, with some agreements extending far beyond the supply of powertrains. This was particularly evident in last weekend's London finale, when Cupra Kiro driver Dan Ticktum admitted to slowing down in qualifying to help factory Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein reach the final duel.

Did Formula E's London finale go too far with team games and personal vendettas?
While the London races put manufacturer and team orders in the spotlight, the FIA had already been planning a clampdown on such tactics since the summer break.

Mitch Evans reckons the ill-timed virtual safety car was "typical of my luck" in race one of the London E-Prix, after Porsche's "extreme games" already compromised his Formula E ***** le chances on Saturday.
The factory Jaguar driver could only manage an eighth-place finish at the ExCeL after starting third on the grid, while ***** le rival Pascal Wehrlein converted pole position into a dominant win.
Having arrived into the weekend just two points behind Jake Dennis in the ***** le fight, Evans now faces a substantial 21-point deficit to new championship leader Wehrlein with 28 available.
Evans was already losing touch with Porsche's Wehrlein in the opening phase of the race as Nico Muller backed up the field to let his team-mate run away at the front.
But the biggest deciding factor was a mid-race VSC, which allowed the likes of Wehrlein to make a cheap pitstop. Although the Kiwi eventually overtook Muller, he only scored four points as several drivers who had delayed their pitstop boost jumped ahead of him.

German top football official Alexander Wehrle has accused FIFA president Gianni Infantino of a "lordly" leadership style and wants him ousted before he may destroy the game.
"I hope that one continental confederation or another finally wakes up now, because he's no longer taking anyone along with him," Wehrle told broadcasters RTL/Sky.
"He's not even bringing the FIFA Council along anymore; instead, he's making decisions in a lordly manner, as if he alone could decide for the whole world."
FIFA announced this week it planned to generate billions of dollars of additional income by selling a part of their commercial rights in tournaments including the World Cup to private investors.
The governing body reportedly also set a deadline for members to endorse the plan and be eligible for $40 million.

It's no secret how badly Bayern Munich wanted to sign Nick Woltemade, but there was a ceiling to what they were willing to pay in order to get him. Apparently, that ceiling was offensive to VfB Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle.
According to a report from Goal, Wehrle took a "swipe" at Bayern Munich during the club's annual general meeting, addressing both transfer negotiations and fan support.
Speaking to club members, Wehrle revisited the high-profile transfer saga involving the striker. Despite rumors that Woltemade had previously settled on personal terms with the Bavarian giants, Bayern's valuation peaked at €60 million, considerably less than the selling price. Stuttgart held firm on their evaluation of at least €75 million for the attacker before eventually reaching an agreement with Newcastle United, who met, and exceeded, their asking price. Wehrle dismissed any notion that Stuttgart was acting out of spite towards Bayern, explaining that the financial proposal from Munich amounted to little more than "a ****** er pretzel."
The Stuttgart executive also took a direct jab at the atmosphere created by the traveling support from Munich. Reflecting on their DFB-Pokal final clash in May, Wehrle claimed that their supporters completely dominated the stadium, and that he couldn't hear any Bayern fans in attendance.
Stuttgart's firm negotiating stance ultimately secured a record fee from the Magpies. But on the other hand, Wehrle's cheeky comments regarding fan noise were clearly designed to rally the local faithful, after his statements were met with "thunderous applause."

Section 7 girls basketball results: Windward wins top division as California teams dominate originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
As expected, the last round of Section 7's City of Mesa bracket featured a matchup between recent high school girls basketball national champions Etiwanda – the event's three-time reigning champion – and Ontario Christian.
Except it was for third place instead of first.
At the same time Ontario Christian rolled past Etiwanda 75-49 for the bronze, Section 7's top division concluded with one of the tournament's relative underdogs – Windward – defeating four-time reigning NorCal champion Archbishop Mitty 54-46 for the ****** le. Windward had unseated Etiwanda 69-65 in the previous round after starting with a 57-51 win over Nevada powerhouse Democracy Prep Agassi Campus and a 66-58 victory against Arizona champion Millennium. Mitty made it to the finals by beating Eagle (ID) 53-44, defeating Mater Dei 67-56, and notching a 56-48 win over Ontario Christian, which beat the Monarchs 56-49 in the CIF Open Division state finals in March.
The Wildcats are led by one of the nation's premier perimeter units: 5-star junior wing Amel Cook, 4-star senior guard Charis Rainey, Princeton-bound senior combo guard Angelina Habis, who helped Harvard-Westlake win a state crown as a freshman, and six-foot-one junior Alexie Wehrle, a versatile playmaking wing/forward. They're coming off an injury-riddled 18-14 season in which they uncharacteristically finished ranked outside California's top 25. That's because Cook missed the entire season and Habis missed more than half of it between the transfer sit-out period and an injury. But Windward's core is at full-strength now, and it made the most of an opportunity to show what it can do on a national stage when healthy. That's why SN ranked the Wildcats No. 13 in the country in our way-too-early 2026-27 national rankings earlier this spring.
