Actress Julie Hesmondhalgh is to become the first winner of The Theatres Trust's lifetime achievement award.
The former Coronation Street star from Accrington, Lancashire, is being recognised for her exceptional performances on stage and screen, as well as her work in championing regional theatres.
Hesmondhalgh, who played Hayley Cropper for more than 15 years, said she was "very honoured" with the accolade which will be presented to her at the inaugural Great British Theatres Awards in London on 2 November.

The source elaborated: "William is seeing this alliance that Harry has formed with their uncle and it's got him incensed and calling both Harry and Earl Spencer traitors."
The source explained that the Duke of Sussex has sided with his uncle amid his ongoing rift with the royal family. However, Harry has not publicly expressed support for Spencer or commented on the memoir. His silence has reportedly fueled William's frustration, according to the source.
The Prince of Wales reportedly suspects Harry had read the book and knew what Spencer planned to reveal. While Charles reportedly wants to move past the issue, William is said to be willing to confront his brother. According to Rob Shuter's report, both King Charles and William were surprised by the memoir's contents. Neither reportedly received an advance copy. However, a source claimed that Harry received a copy weeks before its official release.
William and King Charles reportedly learned about the memoir's more controversial claims as excerpts emerged publicly. Rob Shuter's source alleged that Spencer gave Harry preferential treatment over William. The source said: "Harry had the book weeks ago. Charles Spencer wanted Harry to understand exactly what he was going to say about Diana before the world read it. Harry was brought inside the circle. William was kept outside it."

"Jersey Shore" star Angelina Pivarnick is being slammed online after she appeared to shade Chris "CT" Tamburello and Phaedra Parks' new romance. On Instagram, Pivarnick didn't hold back when talking about CT's romantic relationship with the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star. In her comment, the MTV veteran even seemed to imply that Tamburello might've done her wrong.
According to Duexmoi, Pivarnick, who appeared in the first season of "Jersey Shore," commented on a post of Parks and Tamburello posing together at the Creative Emmys earlier this month.
In addition to putting several laughing-face emojis, Pivarnick wrote, "Soo much I could say right now because I know what really happened."
Pivarnick's comments come days after Parks confirmed she was dating Tamburello during an appearance on "Jeff Lewis Live." She told the "Flipping Out" star that she and Tamburello started dating recently, but confirmed they felt a connection in 2023 when they filmed season 2 of "The Traitors."

Chris "CT" Tamburello's estranged wife, Catalina White, is clearing the air.
Just days after the MTV star, 46, stepped out alongside Phaedra Parks for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, White, 40, spoke to Page Six to clear the air about any "inappropriate overlap" between Tamburello and the 52-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta personality.
While Tamburello and Parks have only just started dating, they met in the fall of 2023 while filming season 2 of The Traitors, a year before he married White. Besides their long-running friendship and the bond the pair formed on the popular Peacock series, White told the outlet she "absolutely" does not think the two were anything but friends until recently.
"I have no reason to believe that," the content creator maintained.
She also kept her comments about Parks positive, noting that while she doesn't know the reality star "personally," Tamburello only ever "spoke highly" of the Bravolebrity.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Two members of the Iranian women's soccer team who claimed asylum in Australia have confirmed their pivotal refusal to sing the national anthem during the Women's Asian Cup in March was a protest against Tehran.
The first media interview with Atefeh Ramezanisadeh, 34, and Fatemeh Pasandideh, 22, since they abandoned their team to become refugees was broadcast Sunday on Australia's "60 Minutes" current affairs program.
"We just wanted to stand with our people. I was scared at times, but I just tried to do what was right and say that no one should be killed just for protesting," Ramezanisadeh told Nine Network through an interpreter.
The team was criticized in Iran and branded as traitors in the media there for remaining silent when the Iranian national anthem was played ahead of their opening loss against South Korea on March 2.
Some saw it as an act of resistance, while others interpreted it as a show of mourning following the U.S. and Israeli attacks on their homeland which began on Feb. 28. The team offered no public explanation.

The Traitors alum, who hard-launched girlfriend Jadeyn Carr earlier this month, announced Sept. 3 that the couple is welcoming twins using an adorable math equation.
The 35-year-old (also known as Pilot Pete) captioned a photo booth strip featuring a shot of him kissing Carr's baby **** p alongside a heart emoji, "1 + 1 = 4."
In addition to him showing love for the nurse's pregnant belly, Carr hilariously returned the favor by giving her boyfriend's stomach a smooch in solidarity, along with posing for a couple of sweet kisses.

Colton Underwood has had quite an eventful year, spending the first quarter of 2026 in the spotlight as part of "The Traitors" season 4 cast. Months later, Underwood opened up on a podcast about the struggles he faced growing up in the closet.
Underwood, 34, rushed to his Instagram to share the news that he and his husband, Jordan, have moved from Los Angeles. "This second round of living in you was so much better," Underwood captioned a carousel of photos showing him and his family posing around a moving truck.

Comedian Alan Carr is set to keep the only lot which failed to sell at an auction of unwanted items from his recently purchased Scottish castleconcrete cow sculpture.
It was revealed in February that the Celebrity Traitors winner had bought Ayton Castle in the Scottish Borders.
Hundreds of "residual" contents - unwanted by both Carr and the former owners - were sold at auction on Sunday.
But auctioneer Jim Railton said the cow - part of a wider collection of sculptures - had failed to find a bidder and the comedian was set to keep it as a memento.
The auction took place at Ayton Castle on Sunday after viewings on Friday and Saturday.
