The Broyhill Equity Composite gained 8.8% in Q2, trailing the MSCI All Country World Index's 15.1% and the MSCI ACWI Value Index's 10.8%. For the first half, the Composite returned 2.3%, versus 11.5% for the Index. The letter highlights that a significant portion of the shortfall occurred in April due to market dynamics and geopolitical events, with tech, particularly semiconductors, driving recent gains. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Broyhill ******* et Management highlighted Sotera Health Company (NASDAQ:SHC). Broyhill ******* et Management stated the following regarding Sotera Health Company (NASDAQ:SHC) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Sotera Health Company (NASDAQ:SHC) was our largest contributor, with shares gaining 25%. We bought it in the first quarter, when the litigation docket was the only thing anyone wanted to discuss, and the price gave no weight to the fact that there are only two companies of scale doing this work. Results beat on revenue, adjusted EBITDA, and earnings per share; guidance was reaffirmed across every line, and management described March as its best volume month in three to four years. The EPA has proposed a full repeal of the 2024 ethylene oxide standard. At the time, the shares traded at roughly 14x forward earnings against 20x for the closest comparable."

Calls to repeal women's rights to vote are emerging from the online firestorm over the Lindsay Clancy trial, prompting Republican women to warn that the intraparty rhetoric could hurt the GOP.
"I think there's definitely a threat in the Republican Party right now," political and legal strategist Mehek Cooke told Fox News Digital.
The online calls to repeal the 19th Amendment come after Clancy's high-profile murder trial ended in a mistrial, with 11 of the 12 jurors favoring a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity. Clancy admitted to killing her three children, but her defense argued she was not criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis.

WASHINGTON, Sept 2 (Reuters) - A judge in Washington on Wednesday blocked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from sending landmark ‌California vehicle emissions rules for a potential repeal to the Republican-controlled Congress.
The four waivers sent by ‌the EPA to Congress for review granted California authority to enact its own emission standards for cars and trucks as well as lawn-and-garden equipment. The Trump administration has mounted a multi-pronged effort to deny California the ability to require cleaner and more electric vehicles. The EPA and Congress have also enacted rules making it easier for automakers to sell more gas-powered cars and trucks, while making it more expensive to buy EVs.
If the Trump administration is successful, it would bar California indefinitely from ‌regulating tailpipe emissions and a future Democratic president would be unable to easily reinstate its regulatory powers.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin appeals court on Wednesday restored a 2011 anti-union law that abolished collective bargaining rights, in a setback for unions and public workers. Unions are expected to appeal, sending the case to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which is controlled by liberal justices.
The 2024 ruling striking down the law as unconstitutional had been on hold pending appeal, so Wednesday's reversal does not change the status quo. The law remains in effect, as it has been the past 15 years, as the legal fight continues.
Enactment of a 2011 anti-union state law, championed by Republicans, sparked weeks of protests and made Wisconsin the center of a national battle over union rights.
That law, known as Act 10, effectively ended most public employees′ ability to bargain for wage increases and other issues, and forced them to pay more for health insurance and retirement benefits.
Supporters of the law say it gives local governments more control over workers and the powers needed to cut costs. They argue that repealing the law, which allowed schools and local governments to raise money through higher employee contributions for benefits, would bankrupt those entities.

July 14 (Reuters) - The Trump administration was sued on Tuesday by nine environmental groups that said its recent decision to rescind a more than 50-year-old definition of "harm" ‌imperiled wildlife.
In a complaint filed in Seattle federal court, the groups challenged determinations on July ‌10 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service that "maintaining a freestanding definition of 'harm' is unnecessary," and degrading a habitat does not qualify under the Endangered Species Act as an illegal "take" of endangered and threatened wildlife.
Rescinding the definition of harm violates that law's plain language, defies reason, is arbitrary and capricious, and should be overturned, the complaint said.
The Trump administration has scaled back a variety of environmental initiatives and standards, ‌including by reducing government support for clean energy and repealing an Obama administration-era scientific finding that climate change threatens public health.

President Donald Trump signed a "memorandum of understanding" with Iran to wind-down four months of war, but critics, including politicians and media figures who typically support the president, say it concedes too much to a radical Iranian regime. So how does it stack up with the Obama administration's 2015 deal with Iran which Trump attacked on the campaign trail and then repealed as president? NBC's Keir Simmons reports in this week's Sunday Focus.

House tries to undo $500,000 Senate perk, but Thune stands in the way

The overwhelming House vote to repeal a provision allowing senators to sue if the Justice Department obtained their phone records without notice may ultimately fall flat as major obstacles in the Senate stand in the way of the change.
The House voted late Wednesday to scrap the “Arctic Frost” provision, which snuck its way into the final deal to end the shutdown last week and angered scores of lower chamber lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. The provision allows senators — but not House members — to sue the Justice De
