Boston College has dismissed men's basketball radio broadcasters Kevin Collins and Josh Maurer ahead of the 2026-27 season.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Aug. 3, Collins said he and Maurer were dismissed from their roles on July 30, ending a multi-year partnership for the broadcasting duo. Collins had called Eagles games the past 13 seasons.

"To say I am gutted would be an understatement. My (13-plus) year BC career spans 378 games, 3 coaches, and 4 athletic directors. Broadcasting BC Basketball was my dream job," Collins said in a statement. "... I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to Mike Winn, who supported me tirelessly as I grew in this industry. My partner, Josh Maurer, I love like a brother.
"Josh empowered me as an on-air broadcaster and for his faith in me, I am forever in his debt. Thanks to BC Nation and all the sicko's that stuck with us every game!"

Boston College is on the hunt for two new radio broadcasters after letting go of Kevin Collins and Josh Maurer, who'd called games together for the past nine years. Collins had been in the role for 13 seasons, during which time the program went through three head coaches and five athletic directors. Still, he and Maurer were told just days before Aug 1. that their services were no longer needed
Per Collins, who did a phone interview with Awful Announcing, the decision came directly from new head coach Luke Murray, who was most recently an ***** istant under Dan Hurley at UConn.
"He's a young head coach, no experience, and he's being given the power to take two guys' careers away from them who have done nothing but try to serve the program and promote the program," Collins told Awful Announcing.
Both broadcasters reached out to Murray to arrange a meeting, but were told "Coach Murray is off recruiting, or we have an official visit today, and it's not a good day; we've got a lot going on," Collins said.
Deputy Athletic Director Craig Anderson told the pari that Murray didn't want anyone in the travel party who'd been part of what was described as the program's "losing mentality," under the previous head coach, Earl Grant, who went 72-92 in five seasons.

Donald Trump said on Monday that he personally asked Fifa president Gianni Infantino to review the red card shown to United States striker Folarin Balogun, saying he believed the dismissal was unfair but insisting he did not pressure football’s governing body to overturn the suspension.
“All I did was ask for a review because I didn’t think it was a foul,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
“I didn’t tell him what to do. I can’t tell him what to do.”
Trump’s remarks were his first public acknowledgment that he had personally intervened after Balogun was sent off in the United States’ 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the last 32. Fifa had lifted the striker’s automatic one-match suspension on Sunday despite officials previously saying the sanction could not be appealed under the governing body’s disciplinary code.

Lululemon Athletica Inc (NASDAQ:LULU) shares rose more than 3% after shareholders approved three management-backed directors at the company's June 25 annual general meeting, helping resolve a prolonged proxy dispute with founder Chip Wilson.
The elected directors include former Levi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh, Unilever executive Esi Eggleston Bracey and finance veteran Teri List. Their appointment strengthens the board as the company prepares for incoming CEO Heidi O'Neill, who is set to take over in September.
Lululemon also confirmed that two of Wilson's nominees, former On co-CEO Marc Maurer and former ESPN chief marketing officer Laura Gentile, have also joined the board as independent directors.
A third mutually agreed director is expected to be added by October 1, expanding the board to 11 members.
The changes follow a settlement reached in May aimed at ending months of public tension between Wilson, who owns about 8.6% of the company, and Lululemon's leadership.
