There's a new king of PFL, at least that's what he self-procclaims.
Regardless of whether you're the biggest supporter or biggest skeptic, there's no denying Moustapha Diakhate made an impact Friday at PFL New York.
From the opening entrance to the post-fight interview, Diakhate (6-0-1) turned some heads at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. Diakhate entered with drummers, decked out in traditional Senegalese garb. With a jingasa hat, chains, and blond hair, the visuals Diakhate created were not run-of-the-mill.
"The clothes I wore, they were original from the King of Senegal," Diakhate told reporters after the fight (h/t Home of Fight). "Putting the clothes on me, I represented more my people and the kings of Senegal. ... Everybody says to me, 'Moustapha, why don't you go and do a movie?' I say, 'Maybe, one day.' I'm Moustapha Diakhate. I don't have an inspiration. I'm my inspiration. I try representing my people of Senegal, Africa. You know, 'Wakanda forever'? Let's go."
When it came time to fight, Diakhate delivered. He finished short-notice replacement Darryl Walker with ground-and-pound punches at 2:35 of Round 1. It was quite the exclamation point on a week full of uncertainty after multiple opponent withdrawals.

Moses Martin, the 20-year-old son of the "Marty Supreme" actress, 53, and Coldplay frontman, 49, has kicked off his modeling journey by starring in British brand Burberry's newest ad campaign.
The campaign, ****** led "Escape to the Countryside," shows Martin sporting warm-toned and casual looks like polos, T-shirts and ****** on-ups alongside models Edie Campbell, Nora Attal and Sang Woo Kim.
The video ad shows Martin and the others playing a group of friends embarking on a summer road trip in the countryside while flaunting their fits. It features the track "For Hire" by Martin's alternative rock band, "People I've Met," where he serves as a vocalist and guitarist with drummer Orlando Wiltshire and bassist Andrew Suster.
In addition to his modeling and musical pursuits, Martin is presumably still a student at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, as Paltow announced his attendance on Instagram in August 2024.

Scott Disick isn't holding a grudge against ex Kourtney Kardashian for leaving him out of her latest Father's Day tribute to her husband, Travis Barker.
"Kourtney and Scott's kids love [Kourtney and Travis' son] Rocky, Scott respects their relationship and didn't take her leaving him out of her Father's Day post personally," a source said, according to People, of the Instagram post, which read "baby daddy" alongside a sweet photo of Barker holding Kardashian as the two stared lovingly at one another.
"He is happy that his kids are happy and that Travis is so easy to get along with," the source said, per the outlet. The source also said Kardashian "did not mean to disrespect Scott with her Father's Day post," explaining, "Kourt and Travis are such a strong family unit now, it just felt right to pay tribute to Travis," and that the pair "have blended their families so well."
This isn't the first time the Poosh founder, 47, has left Disick out of her Father's Day tributes. In 2024, fans criticized Kardashian after she wrote to Barker, "Beyond grateful for the Dad that you are to our baby boy, and all of our kids," in an Instagram post.

On the eve of Scotland’s group stage matchup against Morocco at 6 p.m. Friday at Boston Stadium, Providence’s section of the now-beloved Tartan Army made its biggest donation of the World Cup.
Hundreds of doctors and members of the Tartan Army gathered in the outdoor garden of Hasbro Children’s Hospital to celebrate the Tartan Army’s donation of $10,000 to the facility.
“The Providence Tartan Army are delighted and proud to be able to support this place and what it stands for because it aligns 100 percent with our values,” Providence Tartan Army member Ian ***** said. “When the Tartan Army comes — some people say invades — we sing, we make friends and we hope to leave a place just a little bit better than we found it.”
The ceremony started with a march in which bagpipers and drummers led the more than 100-person army to the outdoor garden. The large group outlined the circular garden when the march had finished.

Family and friends of the 11 jumpers and pilot killed when their plane crashed shortly after taking off in Missouri said they loved their hobby — whether it was to find personal peace or to share a once-in-a-lifetime experience with others. They remembered the experienced skydivers as people who may have had regular jobs to pay their bills but free falling brought both the thrill and the serenity they craved.
Blake Thacker, 25, jumped for seven years since first skydiving on his 18th birthday. He was set to get his skydiving coach certification over the weekend, his mother Sherry said.
"Skydiving had given him the confidence to do other things in his life, to be successful and reach for things maybe he thought he wasn't good enough to do," she said.
Thacker was an aviation software engineer and his mother saw that same methodical safety-oriented focus in his hobby.
