While Julia Roberts stood front and center at niece Emmas' Idaho wedding on Saturday, July 25, Emma's father, Eric Roberts was nowhere in sight. Per a report from Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, published Tuesday, July 28, the guest list wasn't about reopening old wounds.
Eric, who spent the weekend in Los Angeles, has long maintained that he and the American Horror Story star aren't estranged, but an insider told Shuter the wedding said otherwise. "Eric is putting on a brave face because that's what fathers do," the source said. "But don't mistake grace for a lack of hurt. Being left off your daughter's wedding guest list is heartbreaking, especially when another member of your family gets the invitation."

However, according to a second insider, Julia, 58, being at the ceremony in Sun Valley stung more than Eric, 70, let on. "Emma had an impossible choice to make, and she made it," a Hollywood insider told Naughty But Nice. "She couldn't have both Julia and Eric there, so she chose her aunt over her father. Eric is putting on a brave face, but make no mistake — this one hurts."

Almost five months after Bijou Phillips issued urgent plea for a kidney transplant donor, the story is getting its happy ending.
The model, 46, revealed in February that she had been hospitalized and was "in need of a kidney," asking for help in finding a donor. On July 7, she took to Instagram to share an update: She found the "perfect match" and has undergone a successful transplant.
"My wonderful brother donated in the kidney exchange!" she wrote. "He saved a life, and the life he saved had a special person donate for them, and then a few weeks later! The voucher program found me a perfect match! So close it's like I got the kidney from one of my parents!"
According to the National Kidney Registry, a kidney paired exchange occurs when a "donor will donate their kidney to another recipient in exchange for a compatible kidney for you."

The Shaftesbury Theatre in London's West End is to be renamed after the actress Dame Judi Dench, to celebrate her "unparalleled contribution" to British theatre and the performing arts.
The renaming of the venue will also honour Dame Judi's long-standing links with the theatre, bosses said.
The star was a founding member of the Theatre of Comedy, a collective that staged productions there in the 1980s and 90s. She went on to collaborate closely with the theatre's owners - the Taffner family - and their production company.
Dame Judi said the Shaftesbury Theatre had always held a "special place" in her heart, adding that the honour was "truly overwhelming".
