Prince Harry reportedly had his sights set on one of Princess Diana's most famous fashion pieces. The Duke allegedly wanted Meghan Markle to own the iconic "Revenge Dress."
The striking Christina Stambolian creation was heading toward a major auction in New York. Its potential sale also carried decades of royal history, making Harry's alleged interest especially intriguing.
According to Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, Harry wanted to buy Diana's famous black dress. Sotheby's planned to auction the off-the-shoulder gown in New York on December 9. The auction house estimated its value between $150,000 and $300,000.
According to a source cited by Shuter, Harry viewed the dress as more than royal memorabilia. "Harry sees that dress as a symbol of his mother taking back her power," the insider told Naughty But Nice. The source said Diana wore it while pushing back against Charles, Camilla and the institution.
Diana wore the daring Christina Stambolian dress in 1994. That same day, then-Prince Charles publicly acknowledged his infidelity. The fashion moment quickly became one of Diana's most recognizable public statements.
