Reevaluate your ******* umptions about the Mountain West. Many thought the summer realignment would disband the league. Five established teams transferred to the Pacific, resulting in a conference with a stable core and several new members.
But after two weeks, led by head coach Jason Eck and his staff, who exerted their muscle in the first game of the year against Central Michigan, a new reality has taken shape, centered in Albuquerque with these Lobos.
After a dominant and impressive opening game in Albuquerque, the New Mexico Lobos have become the conference favorites.
With championship experience from Fargo and tough competition across the region, the new Mountain West has not only survived but looks to be a heck of a conference after all.
