Tennis icon and 18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert has been away from her broadcasting duties since her ovarian cancer returned for the third time following her initial diagnosis in 2021. Evert is currently undergoing treatment and has stepped away from broadcasting at Wimbledon and the ongoing US Open.
American sports journalist and senior writer for Sports Illustrated Jon Wertheim shared a heartfelt social media post honoring Evert, noting that she is deeply missed at Flushing Meadows.
