Pensacola State College women's soccer team played its first home game – truly at home – on Sept. 3.
The PSC team hosted Northeast Community College following the ribbon cutting of its new PSC Soccer Complex on a 6.7-acre site at the corner of Underwood and Tippin avenues.
The more than $5.7 million lighted complex includes a natural turf NCAA regulation-sized soccer field, bleacher seating for 280 fans, a concession stand and bathrooms.
Phase 2 of the project, the construction of dressing rooms and a press box, will begin in the fall and cost $2.1 million.
PSC President Ed Meadows described Thursday as "a good day for the college and student-athletes," but added the complex will also be an **** et to Pensacola and Escambia County.
