Hours after Jaylen Brown was awarded the Key to the City and State by Boston's Mayor, the former Boston Celtics star sat down for a Twitch stream, where he discussed what comes next in his basketball career with the Philadelphia 76ers.
While talking about the process of moving from Boston to Philadelphia, he began discussing his expectations for 2026-27.
"I'm grateful to the city of Philadelphia already, and I haven't even been there that long. I'm grateful that they've been a warm embrace because, for me, it's all about respect. I'm a type of guy that's going to earn his respect. So all my Philly fans in the chat, send some love."
"I look forward to earning every ounce of respect from the city that I possibly can. I don't need no handouts. I don't need no special treatment, no catering, like not being somebody who the organization is always catering to or babying. I don't need none of that; I'm prepared for war," Brown said on Twitch.
"I'm prepared for everything to go right and for everything to go wrong. That's just how life is, and I'm looking forward to the whole journey… You don't get opportunities as you get older. I'm 10 years in; I'm about to be on my 11th season."
