INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever knew the importance of going into the FIBA World Cup break on a high note.
Following the game against Connecticut on Friday night, Indiana has nearly three weeks off from games as WNBA players represent their home countries at the World Cup in Berlin, Germany.
The Fever, who are fighting for a top-4 spot in the playoffs, didn't want to sulk for three weeks. Especially if that loss came to Connecticut, the second-worst team in the league.
"I think for everyone, we want to end this segment of games on a good note," Fever guard Lexie Hull said at practice on Thursday. "I feel like we've picked up momentum since the end of the All-Star break, so we want to spend the next couple weeks in a good mood."
