Danbury native Jah Joyner signed a one-year contract with the San Fransisco 49ers on Thursday, making his return to the National Football League.
Joyner, 25, was initially signed as an undrafted free agent by the Las Vegas Raiders in May, 2025, but was released by the team after training camp. Now he will get another shot at solidifying himself onto an NFL roster.
After being released from the Raiders, he spent the season playing for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League (USFL), appearing in 10 games.
The defensive end was a First Team selection in the 88th New Haven Register's All-State team out of Danbury High School before heading to the University of Minnesota, where he played for five years.
Joyner was a two-time All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, and racked up 66 tackles and 14.5 sacks in his college career.
