It was a day of anticipation on Thursday as new broke that the Colorado Avalanche and Cale Makar had reached an agreement on a contract extension. There was no announcement then but today is supposed to be the day it finally happens.
First it started with Elliotte Friedman dropping the bomb, which was confirmed by several other media sources that a big announcement on Makar's extension was forthcoming.
And then….silence. But considering there's still three weeks to go before the Avalanche get on the ice for training camp, what's another day?
Now we are announcing the announcement as what has become the norm in today's media.
